Port Elizabeth Drayage

Drayage from APM, Maher, and the rest of the Port Elizabeth terminal complex — every box, every gate.

Overview

Port Elizabeth handles more containers than any other terminal complex on the East Coast. Bob's has been hauling out of Elizabeth since the port was built — APM, Maher, PNCT, every terminal in the rotation. Same drivers, same chassis, same dispatch team that runs Port Newark. If your container moves through the Port of NY/NJ, we can move it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can Bob's Express pull a container off the port?

Most import pulls inside the Port of NY/NJ are scheduled inside one business day once the container is "available" in the terminal system. Tight last-free-day moves are scheduled same-day where the terminal appointment system allows. Call dispatch and you will get a real ETA.

Do you handle both Port Newark and Port Elizabeth?

Yes — both, plus PNCT, APM Terminals, and Maher Terminals. Bob's has been pulling out of the Port of NY/NJ for a century. Drivers are TWIC-credentialed; HAZMAT endorsement where required.

Are your drivers TWIC-credentialed and HAZMAT endorsed?

Yes. Every driver carrying containers in or out of the port carries a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). HAZMAT-route drivers carry the HAZMAT endorsement on their CDL.

What's the difference between drayage, LTL, and FTL?

Drayage is the short-haul move of a shipping container between the marine terminal and a nearby warehouse or rail. LTL ("less-than-truckload") shares a trailer with other shippers — you pay for the space your freight uses. FTL ("full truckload") is a dedicated trailer, point-to-point. Bob's Express runs all three.

How long can a container sit at Port Newark before incurring demurrage?

Terminals typically grant 4–5 "free days" from the container availability date. After that, demurrage charges accrue daily. Bob's Express tracks last-free-day for every container we move and schedules pulls in time to avoid those charges where the appointment system allows.
